What’s supported

Supported actions

This connector supports:
  • Proxy Actions, using the base URL https://api.grain.com/_/public-api.

Notes

  • Grain requires a Public-Api-Version header on every API request, for example Public-Api-Version: 2026-10-01. Proxy calls must include it themselves. For available versions, see Grain’s versions documentation.
  • Grain connections use Grain’s default personal scope, which gives the same access as the Grain user who authorizes the connection.

Example integration

To define an integration for Grain, create a manifest file that looks like this:

Before you get started

To integrate Grain with Ampersand, you will need a Grain account. Once your account is created, you’ll need to request an OAuth client from Grain and obtain the following credentials:
  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
You will then use these credentials to connect your application to Ampersand.

Requesting a Grain OAuth client

  1. Contact Grain to request a Client ID and Client Secret for a server-side application. Grain issues these credentials manually; see Grain’s authentication documentation.
  2. Ask Grain to register https://api.withampersand.com/callbacks/v1/oauth as the redirect URI prefix for your client.
  3. Note the Client ID and Client Secret that Grain provides. You will need these to connect your app to Ampersand.

Add your Grain app info to Ampersand

  1. Log in to your Ampersand Dashboard.
  2. Select the project where you want to create a Grain integration. Ampersand Project Selection
  3. Select Provider Apps.
  4. Select Grain from the Provider list.
  5. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret obtained from Grain.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Using the connector

To start integrating with Grain:
  • Create a manifest file like the example above.
  • Deploy it using the amp CLI.
  • Embed the InstallIntegration UI component. The UI component will prompt the customer for OAuth authorization.
  • Start making Proxy Calls, and Ampersand will automatically handle the authentication with Grain.
